The Rabbi Israel S. Dresner

Center & Library

Step into the Rabbi Israel S. Dresner Library and feel an immediate connection to a brilliant mind and compassionate spirit. This extraordinary collection, comprised entirely of Rabbi Dresner's personal books, offers a uniquely intimate experience.

Imagine holding the very volume he once held, his own signature a testament to its journey through his hands and thoughts. It's said that Rabbi Dresner possessed such a profound familiarity with his library that he could guide individuals to specific passages with effortless precision.

Within these pages lies a treasure trove of human experience – from captivating fiction that sparks the imagination to engaging biographies that illuminate lives, from the sweeping narratives of history to the gentle embrace of heartwarming humor, and from the melodic world of music and song to countless other enriching subjects. This isn't just a library; it's an invitation to walk alongside a scholar and visionary, page by cherished page.

1,192 Books and Growing!

There's something for everyone!

Books on everything from Archaeology to Zionism!

The Rabbi Israel S Dresner Center For Collaborative Programs  was built on the life's effort of a man who truly believed in and practiced Tikkun Olam- to repair and make the world a better place. We have 1,140 books covering various subjects, from Archaeology to Zionism. You will find books on the Holocaust, The Dead Sea Scrolls, and all aspects of Judaism, philosophy, biographies, music, dance, and history, as well as on prayer, meditation, and mysticism. There is something for everyone.

We refer to this program as a center rather than a library because Rabbi Dresner was more than the books he read, studied, and maintained in his home all those years. He was a man who practiced what he preached, who stood up for right over might. So, this Center has become an outreach center for interfaith programs to perpetuate Rabbi Dresner's legacy.

The Center's mission seeks to foster understanding and scholarship through inclusive, intergenerational, collaborative, and educational programs on a broad range of topics, including Jewish Culture and History, for the greater Wayne Community and beyond. We sincerely hope that you will visit the Library (Housed at Temple Beth Tikva) and take advantage of the programming and events the Center has to offer.
